Bills to protect the Great Lakes from invasive species signed

LANSING ― State Sen. Goeff Hansen (left), R-Hart, and Gov. Rick Snyder hold Senate Bill 510, sponsored by Hansen, after it was signed into law. SBs 508 through 510 establish the Great Lakes Basin Aquatic Invasive Species Advisory Council. The council will help protect the state from an ecological catastrophe from aquatic invasive species and help prevent millions of dollars in lost revenue. The new laws are Public Acts 284 through 286 of 2011.
