Hansen to have ‘coffee hours’ in Fruitport, Ravenna

LANSING – If you have a concern about state government or seek to share comments about an important issue, Sen. Goeff Hansen wants to have a cup of coffee with you and talk things over.

Hansen has scheduled two “coffee hours” for Monday, Feb. 14 in Muskegon County.

The 34th District lawmaker will be at Suzie’s Village Inn, 340 N. Third Ave., Fruitport, from 8-9:15 a.m.

Hansen is also available from 9:45-11 a.m. at the Ravenna Roundtable, 12396 Stafford St., Ravenna.

“I encourage anyone who needs help or wants to express a viewpoint to stop by,” said Hansen, R-Hart. “My goal is to provide the best service possible for the hard-working people of west Michigan.  I am eager to hear directly from area constituents.”

Hansen takes oath of office in the Michigan Senate

LANSING – Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert P. Young, Jr. administers the oath of office to Sen. Goeff Hansen during a ceremony at the State Capitol. Hansen’s wife, Tami, was at his side. Hansen announces full committee assignment list

LANSING – Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville has named Sen. Goeff Hansen to five committees for the 2011-2014 legislative term.

Hansen will chair the Senate Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Committee and will be a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.

“As we move forward, Michigan’s natural resources are poised to play a pivotal role in our recovery,” said Hansen, R-Hart. “Both tourism and agriculture generate billions of dollars for our state economy and we must continue to cultivate both industries.”

The 34th District lawmaker will serve as vice chair of the Local Government and Elections Committee. He also is a member of the Insurance and Economic Development committees.

“I’m pleased with my committee assignments. These panels will deal with legislation that has a direct impact on west Michigan,” Hansen said. “We need to move swiftly and get Michigan back on track. I look forward to the input of area constituents as we develop sensible solutions.”

The 34th District includes the counties of Mason, Muskegon, Newaygo and Oceana.
