Governor signs Hansen bill allowing wine tasting at farmers markets

LANSING—Gov. Rick Snyder on Tuesday signed Public Act 100 of 2013, sponsored by state Sen. Goeff Hansen, R-Hart (second from left). The new law will promote the state’s agriculture industry by allowing small winemakers to offer wine tastings at farmers markets.

Attending the bill signing as Hansen’s guests were the owners of Oceana Winery & Vineyard in New Era, Greg and Renae Goralski, along with their daughter Elise.

Lawmaker continues next leg of ‘Hansen’s Hotspots’ tour in Newaygo County

The second stop in the inaugural “Hansen’s Hotspots” tour of the 34th Senate District.

When:
Monday, July 8
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where:
Hansen will visit the following “hotspots,” using the mode of transportation listed:

8 – 8:30 a.m.:   Begin in Grant; Van Singel Farms
9:30 – 10 a.m.:   Bike to Downtown Newaygo; The Stream
10 – 10:30 a.m.:   Drive to Croton Dam
11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.:   Kayak/Canoe to Newaygo
4:30 – 5 p.m.:   Drive to Fremont; Farmer's Market
